Fine needles create thousands of controlled micro-injuries that trigger a natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin for firmer, smoother, healthier-looking skin.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that stimulates collagen production by creating micro-injuries in the skin using fine needles. As the device glides along your skin, it creates thousands of tiny punctures through the upper layers, stimulating your body’s natural healing response and breaking down old scarring in the process. That healing response increases collagen and elastin production, which gradually gives your skin a firmer, smoother, healthier appearance.
Microneedling can also help topicals, like platelet-rich plasma or hyaluronic acid, penetrate more deeply into your skin. It can be performed on the face, neck, chest, back, knees, and scalp.
Microneedling is safe on all skin types, including darker skin tones. Unlike lasers, it doesn’t cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in patients with darker skin. Your provider will individualize your treatment plan, including any topicals applied alongside it, at your consultation.
Multiple studies show real benefits of microneedling for hair loss in both men and women, including increased release of growth factors and greater expression of hair growth-related genes. Topicals can be applied during treatment to enhance the effects. Microneedling is usually recommended as part of a broader hair restoration program.

Nearly any area of the body with intact skin can be treated with microneedling.
Yes. Microneedling is safe on all skin types, including persons of color. It does not cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in patients with darker skin tones because it does not specifically target melanin in the skin.
This varies by patient. We recommend a minimum of three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Acne scarring and stretch marks typically require more sessions, and many patients complete a treatment every three months to maintain results.
