Helpful for improving crepiness and pigmentation on the back of the hands.
The face usually gets all the attention when it comes to visible aging, but the hands and neck can show just as much wear, if not more. We offer discounted pricing when hands or neck treatment is added alongside a facial treatment, since we believe it’s worth addressing together.
How It Happens
There’s very little natural fat on the back of the hands, and they’re exposed to just as much sun as the face, sometimes more, given how often we forget to protect them. As we age, we naturally lose fat in the hands, and the skin loses collagen and elastin at the same time, which together can make hands age even faster than the face. Brown spots and visible veins often develop on top of this, adding to an aged appearance that many people don’t realize is treatable. Sun damage in particular is one of the biggest contributors, and it’s easy to overlook: most people remember sunblock for their face and neck but forget their hands.
If you’re investing time and money into treating your hands, protect that investment with daily sunblock.. A daily moisturizer helps too, and it’s fine to use a vitamin A derivative like retinol or tretinoin on the hands in the same way you might on your face.
