A fast-acting, FDA-approved alternative to BOTOX® that softens fine lines and wrinkles, often with visible results in as little as one to three days.
Dysport® is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectable, the same category of neurotoxin as BOTOX®, used to soften fine lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movement. It’s injected directly into the muscle, where it blocks the nerve signal that tells the muscle to contract, allowing the overlying skin to relax and smooth out.
Dysport® tends to spread a little further than BOTOX® once injected. That can be an advantage in larger areas like the forehead, but it calls for more careful administration in smaller areas like the glabella. It also has a faster onset than BOTOX® for some patients. Results aren’t permanent, and most patients return for treatment every three to four and a half months to maintain them.
Dysport® can be used in the following areas:
Dysport® is a good option for adults who want to soften dynamic wrinkles, whether they’re new to neurotoxin treatment or currently using BOTOX® and curious about an alternative. It’s not appropriate for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or for anyone with a known allergy to botulinum toxin or a diagnosed neuromuscular condition. Your provider will review your full medical history at your free consultation to confirm it’s right for you.

Most patients begin to see gradual effects within one to three days, reaching full benefit by about a week.
Icing the treatment area beforehand can help reduce the risk of bruising. Some patients find that using arnica prior to injection is beneficial as well.
Dysport® is injected directly into the muscle by a licensed health professional. Only physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered nurses under physician supervision perform this injection at Lazaderm.
Avoid exercising, pressing on the treated area, or lying down for about six hours after your injections. Icing the area afterward can also help minimize bruising.

Dysport® and BOTOX® are both formulated from botulinum toxin type A and work the same way in the muscle to soften expression lines. Dysport® tends to spread a little further once injected than BOTOX® does, an advantage in larger areas like the forehead, though it calls for a more careful hand in precision areas like the glabella. Dysport® may also take effect a bit faster. For most patients, either option delivers similar results, and your provider can help you decide which is the better match for your anatomy and goals.
The makers of Dysport® offer a rewards program covering Dysport®, Sculptra®, and the entire Restylane® family. Enrolling lets you earn points toward future treatments.
Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered nurses under the supervision of a physician can inject Dysport®.
We price by the unit since each case requires a different amount. Dysport® generally takes about three times as many units as BOTOX® per area, so we’ve priced 3 units of Dysport® to be the equivalent cost of 1 unit of BOTOX®.
It typically takes one to three days to start seeing gradual effects, with maximum benefit reached by about one week. We ask patients to wait two weeks to judge the full effect.
Duration varies by patient, but Dysport® injections generally last three to four months, with a similar first-to-third-treatment progression as BOTOX®. Staying consistent with your appointments helps maintain the best results.
Most patients receive 45 to 75 units for the glabella (frown lines), 66 to 70 units for crow’s feet, and around 40 units for forehead wrinkles, though the exact amount varies by patient.
