Improves skin tone, acne scarring, fine lines, and discoloration by treating tiny sections of skin at a time, leaving the rest untouched to speed healing.
The Profractional laser selectively treats tiny sections of tissue within the skin while leaving the rest untouched. The laser creates evenly spaced, microscopic treatment areas deep into the dermis, called Micro Thermal Zones, which trigger your body to produce new, natural collagen. Because the laser only treats a fraction of the skin’s deepest layers at a time, the surrounding untreated areas help speed healing and minimize pain.
The laser reaches into the dermis, targeting microscopic areas while leaving surrounding tissue unharmed. The treated zones stimulate collagen production, tighten skin, and help normalize pigmentation, while the untouched, healthy areas in between speed the healing process.
Profractional is generally well suited to patients with fine lines, deeper wrinkles, scarring, or sun damage who want more dramatic results than a lighter treatment provides. Depth and intensity are adjustable, so your provider can dial treatment intensity up or down based on how much recovery time you are comfortable with.

We’ll evaluate your skin concerns and confirm whether Profractional is the right fit and what treatment depth is optimal.

A topical numbing cream is typically applied for 20 to 30 minutes beforehand. The laser then targets microscopic sections deep in the dermis, triggering natural collagen production.

Initial improvement in tone and texture is often visible within about a week, with continued improvement over the following months as collagen builds.
A topical numbing cream is typically applied 20 to 30 minutes before treatment to minimize discomfort.
The laser creates precise micro-channels deep in the skin, treating only a fraction of the tissue at a time. Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping.
Skin will appear pink to red, and some peeling, flaking, or light crusting is normal as it heals. Protect treated skin with a zinc-based sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure for several weeks.

Downtime depends on treatment depth. A lighter session for overall tone and texture may only involve one to two days of visible healing, while a more aggressive treatment for scarring or deeper wrinkles can take five to seven days, and occasionally longer for very deep treatments.
Most patients see meaningful results after one to three treatments, followed by periodic maintenance sessions to protect and extend results.
Some improvement may be visible within a week, with continued improvement over the following months, typically up to six months, as your skin produces new collagen.
