HALO Laser
The HALO® is the first hybrid laser that promotes skin turnover and collagen renewal as well as improves the tone and texture of your skin. It is also known as an anti-aging powerhouse. The HALO® offers the flexibility to customize treatment for each individual. We all have different skincare needs and concerns, along with the amount of downtime we can commit to. The medical staff at Lazaderm® can uniquely tailor each treatment to accommodate individual expectations and lifestyles.
What is the HALO® laser procedure?
HALO® is a hybrid laser that uses a combination of two fractional lasers. Fractional lasers treat only a portion of the skin at a time, decreasing the amount of downtime from the HALO® treatment. One of the HALO® lasers is an ablative laser that targets the top layers of your skin and a non-ablative laser that targets the deeper layers of skin.
So what does HALO® do? This innovative technology can eliminate years of damage and achieve radiant skin without the downtime of other ablative laser treatments. HALO® is a complete skin makeover treatment, giving your skin what is called the “Halo Glow.” HALO® laser results include:
Improved overall tone and texture
Improvement of discoloration
Reduction in fine lines
Reduced pore size
Skin reflectivity and glow
HALO® and BBL® facial treatments differ based on the type of light they use and the results. HALO® uses fractional lasers to penetrate the skin, focusing on one area at a time, resulting in skin rejuvenation, color improvements, and reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. On the other hand, BBL® uses intense pulsed light heat deep within the skin, causing the skin to begin its own rejuvenation process, resulting in lighter, vibrant skin. When choosing HALO® vs. BBL®, consider their differences and talk with the experienced staff at Lazaderm® to determine which skin treatment is right for you.
What’s great about HALO® laser is that you can choose how many treatments you want. During your free consultation, one of our providers will discuss your needs with you, and you can choose to have one or two aggressive HALO® treatments or multiple less aggressive HALO® treatments to achieve your goals.
At Lazaderm®, we will apply a topical numbing agent to your skin one hour before treatment. The topical anesthetic and integrated cooling of the HALO® laser will help most patients experience very little discomfort. Patients often describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations. After a HALO® treatment, patients may experience a mild sunburn-type feeling that normally lasts up to 30 minutes. Some have told us that the sunburn feeling lasted a few hours.
For most, we recommend that you decrease your activity for the first 24 hours. After that, you can return to your daily routine. We do recommend that you protect your skin from sun exposure. The treated skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure.
After the first 24 hours, your skin will begin to peel, but you will be able to put on makeup. After two to three days, your skin will develop a light bronzing appearance. This is the process by which your body removes dead skin cells. On days three to five, your skin will peel, revealing your new skin beneath. The process for off-the-face will take a little longer.
You will begin to see results on days two and five after your HALO® treatment. Your skin will continue to improve over time. You will see most of the improvement in pigmentation changes after about two to three weeks. The skin tone, texture, and pore size will continue to improve for a few months.
The best answer is that the better you care for your skin, the longer your results will last. The results should last years. Additional HALO® treatments will continue to improve the results, giving you even better-looking skin with longer-lasting results.
HALO® laser treatment will be customized for your skin and your lifestyle at the time of your consultation. Depending on your needs and lifestyle, your provider may recommend a single treatment or a series of treatments. To find out the best option for you, please call us to set up a free consultation.
