What Are Bioidentical Hormones & BHRT?

Hormones are essential to the body's normal function. When hormones are imbalanced, our well-being and mood can be significantly impacted. Hormone imbalance can be the cause of insomnia, dry skin, hair loss, loss of sex drive, etc., especially as people age.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) are hormones that are derived from plant estrogens. The term "bioidentical" means the hormones are chemically identical to those produced by humans.

Natural hormones are used in the treatment including estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. These are the hormones that regulate many of our important body functions. Bioidentical hormones come in various forms.

Types of BHRT

We provide bioidentical hormones in 3 forms:

Creams: The hormones are absorbed into the body through the skin.
Hormone Intramuscular injection: Hormones will be injected into your body by our experienced providers. To maintain its effect, multiple injections a month will be necessary.
Bioidentical Subcutaneous Hormone Pellets: This is a surgical procedure that requires an experienced doctor to perform. Small pellets will be placed under the skin to deliver hormones continuously in a steady stream.
