Frequently Asked The HALO Laser Questions

What is Halo?

Halo is a hybrid laser that uses a combination of two fractional lasers. Fractional lasers treat only a portion of the skin at a time which decreases the amount of recovery time. One of the lasers is an ablative laser that targets the top layers of your skin and a non-ablative laser that targets the deeper layers of skin. The Halo laser will give your skin what is now called the “Halo Glow”.

What results can I expect from Halo?

Halo is a complete skin rejuvenation treatment. You will see these improvements: • overall tone and texture • improvement of discoloration • reduction in fine lines • reduced pore size, • skin reflectivity and glow. These benefits will give your skin a more youthful appearance.

How many Halo treatments do you need?

What’s great about HALO Laser is that you can choose how many treatments you want. During your free consultation one of our providers will discuss with you your needs, and you can choose to have one or two aggressive treatments or multiple less aggressive treatments to achieve your goals.

What does HALO procedure feel like?

At Lazaderm, we will apply a topical numbing agent to your skin one hour prior to treatment. The topical anesthetic and integrated cooling of the Halo laser will help most patients experience very little discomfort. Patients often describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations. After a Halo treatment, patients may experience a mild sunburn type feeling that normally lasts up to 30 minutes. Some have told us that the sunburn feeling lasted a few hours.

How soon after my treatment can I return to normal activities?

For most we recommend that you decrease your activity for the first 24 hours. After that you can return to your daily routine. We do recommend that you protect your skin form sun exposure. The treated skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure.

What happens after HALO treatment?

After the first 24 hours your skin will begin to peel, but you will be able to put on makeup. After two to three days your skin will develop a light bronzing appearance. This is the process of your body removing the dead skin cells. On day three to five your skin will peel, revealing your new skin beneath. The process for off the face will take a little longer.

When will I see results?

You will begin see results on days two and five after your HALO treatment. Your skin will continue to improve over time. You will see most of the improvement in pigmentation changes after about two to three weeks. The skin tone, texture and pore size will continue to improve for a few months.

How long will my HALO results last?

The best answer is that the better you care for your skin the longer your results will last. The results should last years. Additional HALO treatments will continue to improve the results, giving you even better looking skin with longer lasting results.

How much does a HALO treatment cost?

HALO laser treatment will be customized for your skin and your lifestyle at the time of you free consultation. Depending on your needs and lifestyle, your provider may recommend a single treatment or a series of treatments. In order to find out which is the best option for you, please call us to set up your free consultation.
