Erbium Resurfacing Laser
The length of the Erbium laser procedure varies from 15 minutes to slightly over an hour, depending on the individual’s needs. A local anesthetic may be used for patient comfort. Healing is more rapid than with other methods of laser resurfacing because less of the surrounding tissue is affected. After several weeks, the pinkness of the exposed skin will lighten to reveal the normal tone, yet with a softer, smoother, and younger appearance.
Erbium laser resurfacing is a procedure designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face. This offers a dramatic improvement in the appearance of the skin. The process entails ablating, or removing, the outermost layer of the skin, revealing smoother, younger-looking skin beneath. The procedure also promotes further collagen production and tightening of the skin that will continue for months following treatment.
