Many women in their 20s and 30s wonder about what age they should start anti-aging skin treatments. Others aren’t even aware that anti-aging is something they should be thinking about.  With the latest prejuvenation trend, more women have begun making appointments at their chosen medspa to begin anti-aging skin care treatments. Younger patients who use neuromodulators, fillers and fractional resurfacing in their late 20s to early 30s to prevent sun spots, wrinkles and sagging skin have begun this trend of prejuvenation.  Is this something you should be doing, or are the “prejuvenators” getting ahead of themselves and wasting their time?

The answer is a little more complicated than what it may seem.  It is, in fact, easier to address lines and wrinkles before they become deeply etched into the skin.  At the age of 25, the human body begins to lose bone, and by the age of 35, bone loss is considered significant.  You may begin to notice wrinkles in this time period because your facial muscles are losing the bone that they were able to relax onto in the past.  Relaxing those muscles can minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Preventing current lines and wrinkles from progressing can help one to age more gracefully and prevent those deep lines and wrinkles that would have appeared if preventative measures hadn’t been taken.
